Tutor responsibilities
- Schedule tutoring appointments with the client and arrive on time prepared
- Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks.Â
- Create educational materials to further lessons on subject matter with practice for sessions.
- Assess and communicate the progress of assigned students to ensure effective processes with the company.
- Plan creative lessons to engage and educate students.
- Establish friendly, encouraging sessions for students upon their entering of the session.
- Connect with parents and keep them informed of student progress and improved areas.Â
- Promote high standards for academic success and behavior and continually encourage students to meet the goals set.
- Provide students with positive and constructive feedback
Tutor Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of a specific academic subject or expertise in test preparation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain challenging concepts, provide instructions and deliver feedback
- Ability to motivate and encourage students to improve their academic performance using effective goal-setting strategies
- Creativity and flexibility in order to personalize their learning approach for individual students
- Patience and compassion for students as they develop skills and improve their performance
- Previous demonstrated excellence in the academic subject they plan to tutor in or on the test they’re helping students prepare for
- Ability to work within a team and individually
- At least two years of higher education or professional degree, teaching or tutoring experience preferredÂ
